Aquatic Processors Association of Tanzania [APAT]
APAT refers to the non-governmental organization known as the AQUATIC PROCESSORS ASSOCIATION OF TANZANIA [APAT], whose primary purpose is to promote the processing and value addition businesses related to aquatic products.
The Constitution of APAT originates from the agreement of Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Processors of water-based products, including Seaweed, who met on 26th October 2024 at the APAT’s HQ Office located in Mkuranga, Coast Region. This Constitution serves as a guiding framework for APAT in carrying out its responsibilities and enabling full participation in contributing to the development of APAT.
APAT is owned and operated by its members through its governing bodies. The main goal is to strengthen solidarity and unity among its members, as well as other members of social organizations in the country. Additionally, APAT enhances good relations between fish processing experts and various donors supporting this organization.
The APAT Constitution is the primary tool that guides the execution of its activities. The Constitution will be subject to amendments whenever its members deem it necessary. Therefore, all APAT members, leaders, and officials are required to respect this Constitution and ensure that the leadership and operations of APAT align with its directives.
To be an institution that provides opportunities to promote the businesses of processing and value addition to aquatic products.
The mission of APAT is to ensure the sufficiency of value-added aquatic products in domestic and international markets.
